PAUL CASSAR
Welcome to My Artistic World
Hello and welcome! I am Paul Cassar, an artist with a passion for capturing the essence of life through various forms of art. My journey as an artist has led me to explore and create a diverse range of artworks, including landscapes, townscapes, still-life, portraits, and sculptures. However, my heart truly lies in the realm of abstract art, where I find the freedom to express the deepest emotions and thoughts.
In addition to my visual art, I also write poems in the beautiful Maltese language, adding another layer of creativity and expression to my work. Each piece I create, whether it be a painting, sculpture, or poem, is a reflection of my experiences, emotions, and the world around me.
I invite you to explore my gallery, where you will find a collection of my artworks and poems. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions, comments, or if you are interested in purchasing a piece. Thank you for visiting, and I hope my art resonates with you as much as it does with me.
Paul Cassar
Review by Katya Glenville Vella
Paul Cassar excels at abstract paintings – paintings which showcase his talents apart from his love for all that is organic. His abstract paintings are alive with colour and with nature. Some of his paintings are reminiscent of a starlit night sky, of luxuriant fields or of seeds and their promise of life. Circles and spirals also abound in Paul’s work – apart from being evocative of plant life they may also represent the cycle of life - birth, growth, death and rebirth.
When one considers Paul’s preoccupation with life and nature it should come as no surprise that he also excels at landscapes. Paul’s landscapes, and his townscapes, for that matter, depict the local scenery with a bold palette that vibrantly represents the effects of lighting on Maltese soil and stone.
His strengths and preoccupations are also seen in his sculptures and his self-portraits, works that have a colour scheme as striking as the brightest of his abstracts.
Paul Cassar’s vivid palette is one that entrances the observer. The bright yellows, purples, greens, oranges, reds and shades of blue that make up his works cannot but attract and hold the viewer’s attention.
